Residents at The Grange have been getting their hands dirty as part of the popular Gardening Club, spending time outdoors,…
Preparations are well underway at Buckshaw as residents and teams get ready to take on this year’s HICA in Bloom competition.
A favourite in the HICA calendar, the annual competition sees services from across the organisation transform an outdoor space, with this year’s theme focusing on creating gardens that are Animal and Insect Friendly through the use of wildflowers, colourful planting and wildlife-friendly features.
Residents have been busy planning, planting and getting creative, with trips to garden centres, handmade decorations and plenty of gardening along the way. The project offers a wonderful opportunity to spend time outdoors, enjoy gentle physical activity and work together towards a shared goal.
With judging taking place in mid-July, everyone at Buckshaw is looking forward to showcasing their hard work and seeing how their garden develops over the coming weeks. Fingers crossed their efforts will impress the judges and earn them the HICA in Bloom trophy when the winner is announced at the annual SHINE Ball in September.
